Our Story …

My boys and I are really excited to announce that we are taking part in a Cancer Cruise happening on the 28th of March 2021 in Tassie and 6 other states across Australia.

So, for us, raising money for the Cancer Council is not just for our beloved Chris but for everyone who knows someone dealing with or has dealt with this SHIT disease.

The Cancer Council helped us so much..they held out their hand and we got through our shit time with their guidance, support and encouragement.

To do this Cruise and to be able to give back in a small way with the hope this money raised can support other families through their shit time in their lives.

Here's what I'm doing …

Cancer Cruise is a new initiative from Box Rallies who are behind Shitbox Rally and Mystery Box Rally. Box Rallies has raised over $39 million dollars in the past 13 years, for cancer research, which makes Box Rallies and those that participate in our projects the largest community-based fundraisers for Cancer Council nationally.

Cancer Cruise is a family day out for participants in their Shitbox, Mystery Box or other favourite vehicles.

The cruise is not a race – it’s a fun, easy going drive to lunch, where teams will be able to socialise with each other, talk about the rallies and why they are fundraising for cancer research, many brought together after experiencing cancer themselves or seeing cancer impact family and friends.

<p>So, we are getting excited about this Cancer Cruise....of course it's not about the car you use BUT it would not be right than to honor Chris (Ox) by using his pride and joy...his '75 HJ Kingswood!!!</p><p></p><p>The Kingswood is currently getting restored at Deloraine Classic Car Restorations. The guys are working hard to have it ready in time!!</p><p></p><p>There's lots to be done!!!</p><p></p><p> </p><p></p>

<p>Well....good news.....the Kingswood is getting all it's rust taken out yay!!</p><p></p><p>bad news....the Kingswood won't be ready for the Cruise... Boo!!!</p><p></p><p>Such a shame BUT the Kingswood had a few extra bits of hidden rust that needed taken out and the paintwork would just not be able to get done in time...nobody wants a rush job so the guys at Deloraine Classic Car Restorations are doing their best and the Kingswood when ready will look absolutely SPECTACULAR!!!...so until then....</p><p></p><p>Our little black Lancer will step up and will look totally HOT with all the Livery!! (as we can't all fit on Chris's Motorbike..although I did consider a sidecar!!! ha ha!!...Nahh.. where would I put all these fine Logos from our Wonderful Sponsors?!!)</p><p></p><p></p>

<p>OHHH...2 days to go!!!</p><p></p><p>I picked up the stickers/decals yesterday...</p><p>It made me happy and sad..I'll post a photo when it's all on the Lancer and you'll see why.....</p><p></p><p>But in the meantime checkout our Cruise on the map....very cruisy driving..although some locals here would be having a fit to drive THAT far...ha ha!! not for us!!!..we are actually continuing onto Hobart after the Cruise, Phaw! what's another 1hr 20mins driving!!! then home that night..too easy!!! ha ha!!!</p>

<p>Executive Decision was made tonight...</p><p></p><p>We chose to use the Pajero as our Cruising Car instead of the little Lancer as technically the Poj was Chris's car and he of course could fit in it more comfortably than the Lancer!!</p><p></p><p>Also Chris's brother Stephen is flying tomorrow to join us on our Cruise which is so fantastic that he could be here to share our adventure.</p><p></p><p>Kinda figured we travelling a few kms might as well be bit more comfortable!!</p><p></p><p>So very special decals on this 4wd...looks soooo good!!!</p>

<p>Phew...Big Day yesterday!</p><p></p><p>But a FANTASTIC DAY!</p><p></p><p>We met at Coles Beach in Devonport and met up with the 3 other teams from the North West..headed through to Deloraine for morning Tea via Sheffield...so pretty countryside...then through to Campbell Town via Cressy and Bracknell then to Ross for lunch. We met with the other Cruisers from Hobart.</p><p></p><p>It was Awesome Fun and so cool to be sharing our experience with you all.</p><p></p><p>Thankyou to you all for all the donations and to our wonderful sponsors who helped not only towards our donation target but their wonderful logos on the Poj looked fantastic and we were very proud driving around Tassie!!!</p><p></p><p>Hmmm do it all next year?....YES probably...bigger and with Kingswood!!</p><p></p><p>Sending you all so much love Lis, Tomas, Oszkar.</p><p></p><p>P.S Our donations are still being received which so amazing...thankyou</p><p></p><p>Tassie teams have raised altogether over $8000 towards the big total for the Cancer Council...incredible!!!!</p><p></p><p>xoxo</p><p></p><p>P.S.S So me and my big ideas...sure Lis park your 4WD at the back of all the cars and on an angle...praying handbrake holds!!!
