Our Story …

Us Whittle/Anderson family heading out on the Cancer Cruise happening on the 28th of March 2021 in 6 states across Australia.

Thanks to my fab sponsors so far, who have helped me raise the $500 needed to cross the starting lines. These funds go to Cancer Council - the charity which is very close to my heart. Most of you know why that is.

Please continue to donate generously - sending virtual hugs and kisses for your support (or may even give in real life). You can follow our progress via this page and the blog post below.

Still havent decided yet who is driving and who will be navigating - either way, the other 2 likely to be loud back seat drivers!

Here's what I'm doing …

Cancer Cruise is a new initiative from Box Rallies who are behind Shitbox Rally and Mystery Box Rally. Box Rallies has raised over $39 million dollars in the past 13 years, for cancer research, which makes Box Rallies and those that participate in our projects the largest community-based fundraisers for Cancer Council nationally.

Cancer Cruise is a family day out for participants in their Shitbox, Mystery Box or other favourite vehicles.

The cruise is not a race – it’s a fun, easy going drive to lunch, where teams will be able to socialise with each other, talk about the rallies and why they are fundraising for cancer research, many brought together after experiencing cancer themselves or seeing cancer impact family and friends.

Reminds me of the old car rallies of my childhood! You once advised me that sticker books were the saviour for car journeys with kids: I’ll get you and Trev one each.

The Impact, Outcomes & Charity

Cancer Cruise is a dedicated fundraising event for cancer research with funds going to Cancer Council.

Cancer Council is one of the largest non-government funders of cancer research in Australia. We conduct and fund research studies across all cancers and all stages of the cancer journey.

Thanks to the community funds raised such as Cancer Cruise we can fund world-class research that reduces the impact of cancer for everyone.

$41 million over the past 13 years has been raised by Box Rallies to date, supporting ground-breaking projects such as:

  • A research study to develop a vaccine that protects against lymphoma cancers.
  • A research trial to standardise international guidelines on melanoma removal.
  • A research grant to revolutionise the treatment of pancreatic cancer.

These projects wouldn’t be possible without your support.
